Know the Story

Thank you for visiting TrueHeart Designs. The original idea for TrueHeart™ came from my brother, Kyle and his friend Chris who are both youth pastors at Fellowship Church’s Plano, Texas campus. They were struggling to come up with a different way of teaching their students about purity. Chris found a verse in 1 Corinthians that says, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;” (1 Corinthians 6:19). He and my brother were drawn to the part of the verse that says “You are not your own”. They had a desire to be authentic and unique. We talked about a way to memorialize this idea with a ring, so we decided to use the actual Greek as the inscription on the ring.  Within a half hour, my father had drawn a picture of what it could look like and within three weeks we had the first rings manufactured and ready for the students in their ministry. 

It occurred to me that there are thousands of young people and adults alike all over the world that would love to have the opportunity to wear the same ring uniting together to make a difference. I approached a good friend, who is a gifted in marketing, to help me share this with the world. He liked our initial ideas, so he became my partner in this endeavor.

As we began to seek God and talk with community and church leaders, we came to the realization that TrueHeart™ is much more than a purity concept.  It became clear that the central concept of “You are not your own”, embodies an overall attitude of putting the interests of others ahead of your own and making positive personal choices that strengthen your life, and your relationships with God, your family and community.

Most people in the culture today have adopted the philosophy of “What’s it in for me” as their model for living. This thought process has caused people to consider choices mostly for personal gain rather than considering the impact that choice may have on others. 

TrueHeart™ is a transforming concept that encourages a lifestyle filled with positive personal choices that has at its core the understanding that you are not your own. What this means is that when making decisions at all levels of life, a person should consider the overall benefit or impact the decision may have on others and their relationships with God, their family, their neighbors and the greater community. It is amazing to see this idea resonating with people from the inner city to the suburbs in this country and abroad.

Another benefit of the TrueHeart™ movement is creating a common bond with others who wear the TrueHeart™ Ring as a symbol of their commitment to the ideals of having a TrueHeart™ and fully understanding “You are not your own”.

Kevin Draper has been an entrepreneur since the age of 10 when he began selling Beanie Babies® and sports cards to collectors all across the country. He grew up in a Christian home and around Christian ministry most of his life. His grandfather is a retired pastor. His parents are on the board of several Christian ministries and are sought after speakers as well as successful business leaders. He and his family have been active members of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas since 1993.
