Know the Story

Thank you for visiting TrueHeart Designs. The original idea for TrueHeart™ came from my brother, Kyle and his friend Chris who work with studnets in Plano, Texas. They had a desire to be authentic and unique. The idea was to live a life outside your self and put others first, which is to not be your own. We talked about a way to memorialize this idea with a ring.  The actual phrase is "You Are Not Your Own" and is directly translated from the ancient Greek language. Within a half hour, my father had drawn a picture of what it could look like and within three weeks we had the first rings manufactured and ready for their students. 

It occurred to me that there are thousands of young people and adults alike all over the world that would love to have the opportunity to wear the same ring uniting together to make a difference. I approached a good friend, who is a gifted in marketing, to help me share this with the world. He liked our initial ideas, so he became my partner in this endeavor.

As we began to talk with community groups and leaders, we came to the realization that TrueHeart™ is a powerful culture-changing concept.  It became clear that the central concept of “You are not your own”, embodies an overall attitude of putting the interests of others ahead of your own and making positive personal choices that strengthen your life, and your relationships at levels.

Most people in the culture today have adopted the philosophy of “What’s it in for me” as their model for living. This thought process has caused people to consider choices mostly for personal gain rather than considering the impact that choice may have on others. 

TrueHeart™ is a transforming concept that encourages a lifestyle filled with positive personal choices that has at its core the understanding that you are not your own. What this means is that when making decisions at all levels of life, a person should consider the overall benefit or impact the decision may have on their family, their neighbors and the greater community. It is amazing to see this idea resonating with people from the inner city to the suburbs in this country and abroad.

Another benefit of the TrueHeart™ movement is creating a common bond with others who wear the TrueHeart™ Ring as a symbol of their commitment and accountability to the ideals of having a TrueHeart™ and fully understanding “You are not your own”.

Kevin Draper has been an entrepreneur since the age of 10 when he began selling Beanie Babies® and sports cards to collectors all across the country. His grandfather is a retired pastor and his parents are successful business leaders. He has a passion to positively shape the youth culture.  His vision is to not only impact students, but also families and communities. He believes our culture can be saved if each family member recognizes that they do not belong to themselves, but to each member of their family and community. TrueHeart Designs is a reality of that vision.
